Penny, Thomas "Ainsley", 78 of Canso, died peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2014 at home. Born in Queensport, he was a son of the late Roy and May (Hendsbee) Penny.
He was a truck driver for 43 yrs working for British American Oil, Esso and Irving Oil. He enjoyed building in his workshop, fishing, curling and visiting with friends.
Surviving are his wife of 17 yrs, Margie Ward Penny; son, Alan (Muriel), Beaverbank; daughters, Rita (Ronnie Vaux), Canso, Cathy (Fawn David), Halifax; step-daughter & friend, Annette (Bill Dollard), Halifax; sister, Iris Johnson, Debert; brother, Gerald, Sherbrooke; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Arnold and Czerny.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a scripture reading and prayers by Rev. David Wheeler at 8 p.m. all in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Burial at a later date.
