Newell, Cecil Robert "Bobby" – 62, Canso, Guys. Co. passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, January 12, 2014. Born in Canso, he was a son of Ena (Zwicker) Newell, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough and the late Robert J. Newell. He worked for many years at Michelin Tire in Bridgewater; he also worked on the offshore boats and volunteered at the food bank in Canso. Bobby is survived by his mother, Ena; son, Dale (Jennifer) Newell, Bridgewater; daughter, Holly (Michael Wallace) Newell, Edmonton, Alberta; siblings, Edward Newell, Halifax; Kevin Newell, Truro; Roberta Kuhn, Chester; Joan Horne, Canso; Harold (Mary) Newell, Canso; Mary (John) Conrad, Amherst; grandson, Nicholas Newell, Bridgewater and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Newell; sisters, Annette Newell, Elsie Meggetto, Katherine Parker and brother, Michael Newell. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from All Saints Anglican Church, Canso with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. Donations in Bobby’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
