MATTHEWS, Bernard Daniel — 59, Cleveland, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, April 12, 2010. Born in Grand Anse, Richmond Co., the son of Ida (LeLacheur) Matthews and the late Thomas Matthews. He was an equipment operator and welder by trade. Survived by sisters, Ida Allen and Mary Ann both of Cleveland; Marilyn, Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Robert, Edmonton, Alta.; Wilbert (Anna), Norman, Wayne, Perry, all of Cleveland, Hugh (Patty), Halifax; several nieces and nephews; good friend, Art and best bud Rocky. He was predeceased by sister, Catherine and brother, Harold. No visitation by request. Cremation has already taken place. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. in West Bay United Church with Wayne Yorke, DLM officiating. Donations may be made to Palliative Care, Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston or to a charity of choice. Interment at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes Ltd., Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
