Please share a memory of Clarence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Morash, Clarence Joseph - 64, Cleveland, Richmond County, passed away suddenly in Fort McMurray, Alberta, on Friday, June 4, 2010. Born in Whiteside, Richmond County July 25, 1945 he was a son of the late Joseph Frederick and Margaret Rita (Maddox) Morash. Clarence was an excellent husband, father and Grampy. He had a heart as big as Cape Breton. Clarence loved the outdoors and was often found either on the snowmobile trails in the winter, on his ATV in the spring, on the water in the summer or hunting in the fall. Clarence was a founding member of the Cape Clear Snowmobile Club and he served as president of the club for several years. He had extensive local knowledge of the Cape Breton Highlands and was always willing to share it with others. In the early years, Clarence, Harriet and the girls spent every summer camping in Port Hood. In more recent years, Clarence and Harriet spent most weekends fishing, hiking, or picnicking with their grandsons. Clarence was employed as an operator at the Gulf Oil Refinery in Point Tupper. He managed the Irving in Cleveland and later the Ultramar in Port Hawkesbury. Following that, he was self-employed for ten years in Port Hawkesbury at Morash Auto Revival. Most recently he was employed as a coach driver at CRL in Fort McMurray.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Harriet (Spears), by his daughters Rachel, Cleveland; Nancy (Kevin), Middle Sackville and Virginia, Halifax; grandsons that could do no wrong in Grampy’s eyes, Devin and Jeremy. He is also survived by three sisters, Lydia (Peter) MacDonald, West Bay Road; Helen Comeau, Kempt Road; Mary (John) Hayes, Port Hawkesbury. Clarence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
