MCNAMARA, Joan Theresa – 77, Port Hawkesbury, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011, in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Lucinda (Proctor) MacAdam. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish, Lower River Inhabitants. Surviving are step-daughters, Patricia Pero, Cathy Jessome, step-son, Edwin McNamara, all of Ont; sisters, Rose Swindels (late Ralph), Halifax; Dorothy MacDonald (Cokes), Sarnia Ont; Catherine MacRae (late Hughie), Halifax; brother, Michael (Betty) MacAdam, Vineland Ont; sister-in-laws, Kathleen Proctor, MacIntyre Lake; Jean Jewers, Antigonish; Melinda McNamara, Whiteside; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Robert, sisters, Agnes, Peggy Donovan, Rita "Tootsie" Bennet. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be 11a.m. Thursday, from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River, with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Fund, or to a charity of one’s choice.
