MacLellan, Grantie - 92, Port Hawkesbury formerly of Whycocomagh. It is with great sorrow we announce the death of Grantie MacLellan which occurred in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston on Sunday, December 25, 2011. Grantie was a lifetime resident of Whycocomagh where she leaves many happy memories. Grantie leaves behind her beloved son, Robert (Linda) MacLellan, Fort McMurray, Alberta; dear sister, Jessie MacKinnon, Whiteside; her grandchildren, Sandra (Bruce) Embree, Port Hawkesbury; Rod (Lesley) MacLellan, Rosslyn (Willie) MacDonald , Jerome (Gail) Pardoe all of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Brian Sealy, Port Hood; 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Grantie was predeceased by her parents, John and Ella (McKay) Cummings; husband, Norman; daughter, Elena; granddaughter, Melodie and newborn great-grandson, Trevor; sisters, Dalena, MaryBell, and Katie May; brothers, Murdoch, Malcolm and John K. Grantie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend loved by all who were blessed to know her. She will be sadly missed by all. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29 from Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial will follow in Stewartdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Grantie’s memory to Stewart United Church, or Stewartdale Cemetery.
