MacLEAN, Helen Margaret – 77, loving wife of 57 years to Malcolm MacLean, of Rear Black River Road, Richmond Co., passed away Friday, August 3, 2012, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre V.G. Site, Halifax. Born in Summerside, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late William Everett and Pearl (Smith) McLellan. Helen enjoyed gardening, flowers and working beside her husband on the mink farm. Helen enjoyed life to the fullest and was never seen without a smile and was a happy go lucky person. Surviving are her loving husband, Malcolm; sisters, Ruth Forth, Bracebridge, Ont; Mary Auld, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; brothers, Ira McLellan, Red Deer, AB; Ivan McLellan, Hantsport; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Everett and William; sisters, Marion Baristo and Edith Higgins. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Monday, August 6, in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, from where the funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, with Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Burial will follow in Black River Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation, the Strait Richmond Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of one’s choice.
