MacLELLAN, Allan Joseph – 70, Glendale, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2013, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born on January 31, 1943, at home in Centerville, Inverness Co., he was the son of the late James Matthew and Mary Margaret (MacMaster) MacLellan. Allan was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Parish, Glendale. Allan was retired from the paper mill Port Hawkesbury after 42 years of service. On days off Allan often did carpentry jobs, worked in the woods and was known by his family and community as a very generous volunteer of his time and talents when help was needed. He was always willing to lend a hand. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Monica (Chisholm) MacLellan; daughter, Jane (Mike) Trainor; sons, Blair (Alisha) MacLellan, Angus MacLellan, Quarrie (Jean) MacLellan; his grandchildren, John, Daniel Allan and Kayleigh; his brothers and sisters, James (Mary) MacLellan, Antigonish; Elizabeth (Angus) Beaton, Mabou; Sr. Isabel MacLellan, Antigonish; Hughena (late Roddie) MacLellan, Antigonish; Kaye Marie (late Kent) Harrison, Centerville; Donnie (Paula) MacLellan, Skye Glen; his in-law relatives, Maureen (Roger) MacIntyre; Hugh, Lawrence and Basil Chisholm of Glendale; many nieces and nephews. We the family would like to give our sincere thank you to Dr. Collins, Dr. Pluta and Dr. Ramani and the dearest of nurses in the Strait Richmond Hospital, for their exceptionally compassionate care. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, from St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church, Glendale, with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Strait Richmond Hospital, St. Mary of the Angels Cemetery Fund, or to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
