MURRAY, John Duncan "John D." – 91, Orangedale, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2013, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born on May27, 1922, in Orangedale East, he was a son of the late Duncan and Tilla (MacInnis) Murray. He was a member of Orangedale Presbyterian Church as well as an elder for many years. John D was a hard worker and was employed for 38 years as a section man with the C.N.R. He was also a member of the Orangedale Station Association. John D will be missed by many people, especially his caregiver and angel, Donna, as well as his little companion, Snowflake. He is survived by sister, Jessie Lewis, Wilburn; sister-in-law, Ethel Murray, Orangedale East; and several nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Christene (MacRae), for whom he cared for at home for many years, sister, Mary Baker; brother, Lewis Murray; infant brother, Malcolm; brothers-in-law, Charles Lewis Sr. and Percy Baker; nephews, Charles Lewis Jr. and George Baker. Special thanks to Dr. Chow, nurses and staff at Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from Orangedale Presbyterian Church, Orangedale, with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Malagawatch Cemetery.
