MacMaster, Florence Elizabeth "Flo" - Age 94, Guysborough. It is with deep and heartfelt sadness the family of Florence Elizabeth (Hayden) MacMaster announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 after a brief illness in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in Manchester, Guys. Co., she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Sadie (Atwater) Hayden. She is survived by daughter, Joan (Tom) Chisholm; sons, Neil (Doreen) and Gary (Elaine). Nan to 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also left to mourn are brother-in-law, John MacMaster; best friend and sister-in-law, Muriel Martin; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Flo was predeceased by her husband, Abner, sisters, Jennie Morrow, Mae Simpson, Naomi Hughes and Hazel Hayden; brothers, Everett and John. Flo was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Chedabucto Curling Club, Port Shoreham UCW, Sedabooktook Quilters and Boylston Seniors Citizens Club. She loved a good game of anything and saw humor in everything. Known for her good cooking, especially her white bread and fudge. Flo authored, and will remain the "main character" of many a treasured memory in the hearts of family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care and concern provided by Dr. Foley, Dr. Ranjini and Dr. Bell; Home support and Continuing Care Staff; Staff of Milford Haven Home for Special Care, with special thanks to Karen Hoben, RN, Palliative Care Nurse. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2 p.m., in Boylston United Church with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Manchester and Area Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Manchester and Area Cemetery or a charity of choice.
