Murray, Dolena Margaret – age 96, St. Peters formerly of Big Brook, Inverness County. Passed away on Tuesday, March18, 2014 in Richmond Villa, St. Peters. Born in Roseburn, Inverness County on January 24, 1918. She was a daughter of the late Lewis Archibald and Flora Mary (MacKinnon) Murray. She devoted her life in caring for her parents and later worked at several motels in the Port Hawkesbury and Port Hastings area. She was a person with incredible faith, and took great enjoyment from the fellowship of her church family. She felt privileged to serve her church in various positions over the years including choir member, church secretary, treasurer, janitor, trustee, steward, UCW Secretary and Treasurer. She was a life member of The Foreign and British Bible Society. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her older brother, Sgt. John James Murray who was killed in battle during WW2 on April 4,1945 and brother-in-law, Peter MacLachlan. She is survived by brother, A. Peter Murray, Sydney and sister, Josie MacLachlan, West Bay Road, nephew, James (Darlene) Smith Falls, Ontario; niece, Florence, Truro and nephew, Archie (Paula), Port Hawkesbury. She was a grand aunt to Aaron and Brianna, Port Hawkesbury and Josie Maria and Lauren, Barrie, Ontario. The family would like to thank the staff at the Richmond Villa for the great care and compassion given to Margaret over the years. There will be no visitation. Funeral Service from Princeville United Church on Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bowley officiating. Interment at a later date in the Princeville Church Cemetery. A fellowship will follow after the funeral at the West Bay Road Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Princeville United Church or a charity of your choice.
