Munroe, Rosanna Mabel Teresa "Rose" – Canso, age 85. It is with great sadness that the family of Rosanna Mabel Teresa "Rose" Munroe announce her passing on Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born October 8, 1928, in Canso, Rose was the daughter of the late Bill and Elsie (Snow) Parker. She was a member of the Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso. Rose worked for many years in the service of the Catholic Church in the USA and returned to Canso to work at the former Hazel Hill Rest Home until her retirement. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, watching daily mass and trips in the boat to pick berries that grew around the Canso area. Rose held a real affection for dogs, especially her German Shepherd, Heidi. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lawrence; sisters, Mary Durling, Stacy Parker and Joan Parker Robinson all of Ontario as well as many nieces and nephews who dearly loved their "Aunt Rose". Rose was predeceased by her brothers, Basil, Ralph and Jack and her sisters, Florence Nickerson, Patricia Broussard and Mona Osbourne and her in laws, Danny and Annie Munroe. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, May 30 from 6-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
