McNamara, Carl Gerard of Whiteside, Richmond County, age 63 years. With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing of our beloved husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend. Carl passed away at home on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Born in Evanston he was a son of the late Leo and Catherine Jane "Katie" (McNamara) McNamara. He was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Whiteside, a member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants. Carl worked as a Power and Electrical Engineer at Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. A dearly loved man who lived life to the fullest; his happiest moments were time spent with his family. Carl was a kind man whose generosity touched everyone in the community. Carl will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Eileen (McNamara). Carl’s pride and joy were his four sons, Craig (Shaunna); Jody; Jonathan and Adam; his three precious grandchildren, Brianna, Leah, Fynn; sisters, Dorothy MacDonald; Darlene (Junior) Martell; Sharon Ann (Edward) Sampson; brothers, Terry (Mary); Wayne (Anne); Gary (Debbie) and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Ernest in infancy; Blair; and sister, Patsy Dorey. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants with Father Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Whiteside at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Carl to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
