PELLEY, David Gerard – September 22, 1957 – December 2, 2014. It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dave. He is survived by his loving father, Leo Pelley (Guysborough); sister, Mabel (Mark); brothers, Jim, Allen (Ruth), Brian (Angie), Melvin (Eileen); sons, Shaun (Rachael), Gerard; daughter, Tonya; grandsons, Bradley and Jared; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Marion; sisters, Viola and Muriel; nephew, Bradley. Dave was very adventurous, blazing his own trail and leaving home at a young age to go live and work in BC as a Tree Faller. He loved the outdoors and came back home to NS to work at his own successful Acadia Landscaping company in the 1980’s. He would eventually miss Tree Falling and go back out to BC until he came back home for the last time to retire and be close to his family. Dave loved good music and had a quick and clever wit and was known for his many funny jokes and quick comebacks. He was a hard worker at whatever he did and possessed a keen business sense. Dave was always there to help family and friends in any way that he could and loved a good laugh. His pride and joy were his two beautiful grandchildren, Bradley and Jared, whom he doted on and loved with all his heart. Dave’s next pride and joy was his 2000 silver Cadillac which he loved to wax, shine and drive on sunny days. Dave was a true friend to all who knew him. Hope your first Christmas in Heaven is a special one. We will greatly miss you. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 13, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in St. Ann’s Parish Cemetery, Guysborough with Father Danny MacLennan officiating. Family flowers only.
