Lawrence, Mary Louise (Gracie) - 84, Lower L’Ardoise, Richmond County. Passed away in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Born in Gracieville on April 13, 1929 she was a daughter of the Late Samuel and Louise (Sampson) Gracie. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, who doted on her grandchildren and her great–grandchildren. Mom took great pride in our accomplishments and was always with us to provide her strength when life’s few disappointments seemed too much for us to bear alone. Her love and support have always been a mainstay in our lives. Her blueberry cakes and muffins were a special treat for her grandchildren and her meat pies served after Midnight Mass over Christmas were a delicacy. She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47, St. Peter’s and Branch 110, L’Ardoise. Mom leaves to mourn her children, Kerry (Ann), Victoria, B.C.; Dale (Bruce Calnen), Halifax and Carol (John MacDonald), Cow Bay; her dear friend and companion of 23 years, George Osmond, Lower L’Ardoise; She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kimberley, Michael, Keegan and Robert; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Zachary and Flora, sister, Elizabeth (Alex Boyles), Lower L’Ardoise; brothers, Raymond (Shirley), Lower L’Ardoise and John (Shirley), Zealand, N.B. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; brothers, George, Joseph and John Henry; sister, Arthemis. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Holy Guardian Angel Funeral Parlor, L’Ardoise. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Guardian Angel Roman Catholic Church, L’Ardoise with Fr. Mariadoss Lourdusamy officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or charity of one’s choice.
