MacKINNON, Dan Christopher - 88, Ashfield, Inverness Co., died December 24, 2003, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
Born in Rosedale (Dunakin), Inverness Co., August 1, 1915, he was a son of the late John J. and Christy Bell (MacKinnon) MacKinnon.
He was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by nieces, Christena MacCalder, Orangedale; Almira Smith, North Bay, Ont.; Fay Britt, Kirkland Lake, Ont.; Rev. Brenda Ramsden, Kasuskasing, Ont.; Jenny Simpson, Orangedale; Freda Waters, Halifax; Hughena Skilhorne, Falmouth; Elaine MacKinnon, Westville; nephews, Frederick, Ashfield; Charles, Little Narrows; Jackie, Stoney Creek, Ont.; Frederick, Kirkland Lake; Norman, Minden, Ont.; Donald John, Ashfield; several grandnieces and grandnephews; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; one great great-grandniece. He is predeceased by brothers, John Dan, Neil, Alex, Frederick, and Malcolm.
Visitation 2-9 p.m. Saturday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, in Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, Rev. David MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Stewartdale Cemetery.
No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Stewart United Church or Stewartdale Cemetery.
