PIKE (Austin), Ellen Roberta MacKinnon 'Berta' - 76, Whycocomagh, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Pratt, Kan., she was a daughter of the late Robert S. and Ellen M. (Karlsson) Austin. She provided home care for the elderly and was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, and Dr. Gordon MacLeod Chapter 37, O.E.S. She is survived by daughter, Linda Hale, Dedham, Mass.; son, Hugh A. MacKinnon, Hyde Park, Mass.; sisters, Mary (Murdock) Matheson, Sydney; Lee Landmeyer, Sydney; Ingrid (John) Gillis, Whycocomagh; Annie (Donald) MacKenzie, Ontario; brother, Karlsson, Whycocomagh; grandchildren, Kimberly, Kerri, Kelly, all of Dedham, Mass. She was predeceased by her first husband, Hugh MacKinnon; second husband, Kenneth Pike; brothers, Robert Jr. and Maurice. Visitation was held Thursday with an Eastern Star service, both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in Stewart United Church, Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Canada, Maritime Region, or Shriners' Children's Travel Fund. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
