MacKINNON, John - 58, Nevada Valley, Inverness Co., died Tuesday, January 10, 2006, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Nevada Valley, he was a son of the late Alexander and Mary Margaret (Haines) MacKinnon. John was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh. Surviving are brother, Murdoch, Nevada Valley; sisters, Mary Catherine (Wesley) Gillis, Skye Glen; Shirlene (Corry) Van den Heuvel, Nevada Valley; nieces, Sandria and Krystal Van den Heuvel; nephew, Alex Van den Heuvel.


Visitation 2-9 p.m. Friday at the family residence, 3047 Nevada Valley. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Stewart United Church, Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery. Donations in memory of John may be made to Stewart United Church or Canadian Diabetes Association.
