It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alexander "Sandy" Nock of Kewstoke, Inverness Co., (Whycocomagh) on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the age of 63, at home with loved ones. He was the son of the late William and Katherine (MacLean) Nock. He is survived by his 3 sons who he loved dearly, Edward (Shelly), Osgoode, ON; Ron (Helen), Calgary, AB; and Dennis (Jenna), Calgary, AB; his beloved grandchildren, Dylan, Brody, Mackenzie and Connor. He also leaves behind siblings, William (Shirley) Nock, Florrie Ferguson, Murdena MacKinnon, Emily (Morrison) MacKay, Winsten (Jean) Nock, and Kay (Dan) Shaw; loving mother-in-law, Carmeline MacDonald and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his best friend and loving wife of 41 years, Christena "Tena"; his parents; sisters, Margaret Pearo, Irene MacPherson, Shirley Rouse; brother, Jackie; uncle, Duncan MacLean and father-in-law, Duncan MacDonald. Sandy had a great love for the outdoors, gardening, hunting, the Habs and good Scottish music. He always had a good story to make you laugh! We are all very grateful to have had you in our lives...a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, and great "Poppy"!! We love and miss you! Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Friday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh, with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating. Cremation to follow with burial at a later date. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stewartdale Cemetery or Victoria County Hospital – Palliative Care Program.
