PARKER, Marjorie Rose- Age 62, Tickle, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosie, on Saturday, September 24, 2016, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso where she lost her battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of Pearl (Roberts) Bond and the late Edward Bond. Rosie was a homemaker who enjoyed decorating cakes and making costumes for Halloween and children’s concerts. Rosie always loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her mother. Besides her mother Pearl, she is survived by her husband, Dave; sons, David (Tina Roach), Halifax; Gerry (Corinne), Alberta; brother, Howard (Velma) Bond and sister, Mary (Bud) Newell, both of Canso; grandchildren, Levi, Brice and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her brother, Jim Bond; sister, Kathy Newell; brother-in-law, Mike Newell. Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, from Canso United Baptist Church with Rev. Betty Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Fourth Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Fourth Hill Cemetery or to a charity of one’s choice.
