KNORR, Bazil Winston (69), of Mulgrave passed away unexpectedly, at home on Sunday, November 20, 2016. He leaves behind his wife, Evelyn, their sons, Bryan (Sancia), of Eastern Passage and Jamie (Angela), of Cole Harbour and grandchildren, Lilli and Brayden, whom he cherished. Bazil was predeceased by his brother, Gerald (Korean War), his mother, Blanche (Mersereau) and father Leslie. He is survived by his sister, Dolores (John) Higgins of Maine; his brother, Frank (Jo ann) of NB; sister-in-law, Lesley (Bob) Barclay of Whitby; and brother-in-law, David Cohen (Calgary) and many much loved family. He worked in transportation, owned Orange Julius Stores, and eventually baking for New Glasgow Suppers, PEI. Bazil was a past member of the Kinsmen Club of Dartmouth, and Hartlen Point Golf Club. Bazil served as a Eucharistic minister and reader in church. He was an avid fan of baseball, hockey, curling and golf. Besides cooking and baking he loved driving, travelling, curling and being with loved ones more than anything. Bazil fought his cancer valiantly, with a deep faith and a silent resolve. Many thanks to the many people who were so dear to us during this journey offering support and prayers. Special thanks to Dr. Ron MacCormick, Dr. Phillip Cooper, Dr. Wasserman and Dr. Miller as well as the wonderful staff of the Oncology dept. at St. Martha’s and Home Care/nurses/support. Bazil loved deeply and was loved and he will be forever missed. The Rt. Rev. Ron Cutler will be conducting the service on Friday, November 25th, 11 am. from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place, Mulgrave. All funeral plans have been entrusted to Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home of Port Hawkesbury.
