WILSON, (McCallum) Margaret Armstrong – 94, Halifax, formerly of Port Hawkesbury, died peacefully, Friday, August 19, 2011 in Northwood Centre, Halifax. Born January 11, 1917 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the late C. Archibald and Ellen (Ellis) McCallum. She grew up and lived in Port Arthur, Ont. until moving to Port Hawkesbury in 1961. She worked for Stora Forest Industries for twenty years, retiring in 1982. A member of St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury, for fifty years, she was a committed volunteer and served on various boards, committees and women’s groups in the church. She is survived by her son, Allan (Darlene), Dartmouth, NS; her daughter, Margaret (Eric) Wright, Clam Bay, NS; grandchildren, Marc and Amy Wilson and Nicholas Wright. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Walker, Toronto, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, William Stuart Wilson and brothers, Ralph and Jack McCallum. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral. Internment will be at a later date beside her husband in Riverside Cemetery, Thunder Bay, Ont. The family would like to thank the staff of Northwood for the kind and compassionate care Margaret received during her stay at Northwood.
