MacInnis, Deborah Lynn – Baddeck formerly of Skye Glen, Inverness County. Deborah passed away peacefully in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck on Thursday, September 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Inverness, May 8, 1969, she was the beloved daughter of Jackie and Marie MacInnis of Skye Glen. Deborah lived her early life in Skye Glen and graduated from Whycocomagh Consolidated School. Later she moved to Baddeck and was a longtime employee at the Inverary Inn where she made many lifelong friends and found the love of her life, Doug.
Besides her parents, Deb is survived by her partner and best friend, Doug Cameron and the extended Cameron family. Also her sisters, Darlene (Steve), Halifax; Dawna (Glenn), Arichat; and her brother, David, Skye Glen. Her aunts, Margaret Campbell, Dolena MacKinnon, Jessie MacKinnon, Shirley Morrison, Edna MacLennan, Janet (Angus) Scott, Willena (Peter) Parker, Phyllis (O.J.) Ferguson, Marianne (Francis) MacLean and Juanita MacDonald; uncles, Morrison (Laura) MacInnis, Gordon (Barb) MacDonald, Billy (Mary C.) MacDonald, Bernie (Trish) MacDonald; many cousins, especially her partner in crime, Jill Morrison. She was predeceased by her grandparents, John Murdock and Annie MacInnis and Willie and Edna MacDonald; aunts, Mae MacKay, Laura MacInnis and Josephine Ferguson; uncles, Joseph MacDonald, Murdock MacInnis, Stewart MacInnis.
By request there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Brook Village with Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Private family committal in Skye Glen Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Brook Village Hall.
Doug and Deb’s family would like to thank the excellent staff at the Cancer Clinic at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Especially Dr.’s McCormack, Jensen, Ritter and all the girls in the Cancer Unit. Also the wonderful staff at Victoria County Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to Dr’s Genge and Chow, also to Rose Anderson for being there Deb over the years. Special thanks to Deborah’s good friends, Danielle and Bruce Stockley for going above and beyond.
In lieu of flower, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Centre Patient Fund, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, c/o Tom Mac Neil, 1482 George St., Sydney, NS B1P 1P3.
