MacIVER, Neil James – 72, Port Hastings, Inverness Co., passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in River Denys, Inverness Co., he was a son of the late John "Jack" Lennan and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Miller) MacIver. He was a founding member of the Port Hastings Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Solomon Lodge #46, Port Hawkesbury. He was a adherent of St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings. He was a retired Steam Plant Employee of Stora Enso, Point Tupper. Surviving are his wife the former Isabel (Meisner); daughters, Laurie (Larry), Chester Basin; Cindy (Katola), Ingleside Ont; sons, Mark (Donna), Port Hawkesbury; Alan (Junita), Creignish; sisters, Mabel "Joy" Morrison, Marco Island, FL; Betty (James) Langley, Port Hawkesbury; brother, Richard (Noreen), Troy; grandchildren, Rowan, Kira, Lennan, John Luke, Bethaney, Josie, Kim and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Savanaha, Mercedez, Jamie Leigh, Michael, Nicholas, Noah and Charlee-Anne and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Monday in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, with a Masonic Service at 7p.m. also in the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11a.m. Tuesday from St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings, with Nan Corrigan officiating. Burial will follow in St. David’s Cemetery.
