MacKenzie, John "Kenneth" - 62, Lime Hill, Inverness County, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 in QE 11 Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, V.G site surround by his family. Kenny was a dedicated loving father, grandfather and brother. Kenny was born in Sydney, a son of Johanna Jessie (MacLean) MacKenzie, West Bay and the late Duncan John MacKenzie. He was a self-employed contractor, owner /operator of K-Mack Enterprises Ltd. for 35 years. He was a member and former elder of West Bay United Church. He was a staunch supporter of the PC party. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia, Long Point; sons, Ken (Heather), Antigonish; Elliott, Halifax; sister, Beverly Leonard, West Bay; brothers, Ivan (Vicki), Lime Hill; Wayne, West Bay Road; Steven (Joan), Fredericton, N.B.; grandchildren, James and Abby, Kendra and Gavin, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Sheldon and brother-in-law, Lawrence Leonard. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in West Bay United Church with Nan Corrigan officiating. Burial in Lime Hill Cemetery. Donations in memory of Kenny may be made to Ronald MacDonald House, Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of one’s choice.
