McIntyre, Leanne Michelle -47, of Evanston Richmond County. It is with great sadness that we announce Michelle’s passing on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Antigonish May 28, 1966 she was the daughter of Rosemarie (Proctor) and the late James "Red Jim" McIntyre. She is survived by her brothers, Michael, Nantucket/Big Island Hawaii; Norman (Tami), Purl Brook, Antigonish; sisters, Patti (Bob), Holbrook Mass; and Kelly (Collie), Port Hawkesbury; nephews, Jeffrey, Kelly, Nathan, Ryan, Aiden, Logan and niece, Meghan. She is also survived by her special extended family Dr’s Michael and Victoria Mitchell, and their children Jeffrey and Emily of Halifax. Michelle was employed with Inverness Richmond Child Welfare Services as a Social Worker where she was able to utilize her caring, nurturing and compassionate attitude to help children, which was her passion of life. Previous to this she was employed as a nanny to the Mitchell family where she became an integral part of their daily lives for over 20 years. For those who knew Michelle there was no denying her love of children be it at work, at home, or just about anywhere a child could be found. In the desire of honouring Michelle’s memory for everlasting time we are asking for donations to be made to the "Port Hawkesbury Community Park – Let Them Be Kids Campaign." This will enable family and friends from afar to help in this wonderful cause to build what Michelle believed in, which was the happiness of children. Donations can be received on the Website www.believeit.ca or can be mailed to Port Hawkesbury Community Park 409 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury, NS, B9A-2M5. You can also contact any family member for assistance. As Michelle’s request there will be a Graveside Service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury. Immediately following the graveside service there will be a reception in the Riverdale Community Centre, Lower River Inhabitants. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
