VICKERY, Amy Victoria – 72, Steep Creek, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness the family of Amy Victoria (Dobson) Vickery announce her passing on Sunday, October 13, 2013, in the Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Half Island Cove, Guysborough Co., on September 13, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Robert Laird Borden and Verena (George) Dobson. Amy was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Gerald Wade Vickery; sisters, Sylvia, Linda and Nancy. Amy is survived by her children, Randy (Madonna), Sexsmith AB; Darrell (Arlaine), Calgary AB; Edwin, Steep Creek; grandchildren, Gerald, Bradley, Allison, Tracey and Michael; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; siblings, Dora (Harris) Vaughn, Borden (Lil) Dobson, Terry (Lois) Dobson, Basil (Maxine) Dobson, John (Angela) Dobson and Bessie Dobson. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of the Guysborough Memorial Hospital for the care shown towards Amy. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
