Pottie, Edward "Eddie" Martin, River Bourgeois, Richmond Co., age 66. Passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in River Bourgeois, he was a son of the late Willard and Mary Elizabeth (MacPhee) Pottie. Eddie was employed with NuStar, Point Tupper Terminals, as a Security Manager. He was well known for his fund raising efforts and his musical talents. Eddie retired from the Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Artillery in 1992. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 150, Arichat and was a recipient of the Queen Jubilee Award. He leaves to mourn his wife, Susan (Hatheway); daughters, Deanna Pottie-Hartling (Rob) , Denise Pottie-Davis (David) all of Bedford; sons, Anthony Perkins, Dana Perkins both of North Carolina; sisters, Alice Sampson, River Bourgeois; Josephine Anderson, Dartmouth; brother, Richard Pottie, Cheticamp; grandchildren, Kayla, Bria, Breaden, Isabella, Abrel. He will be missed by his canine buddy Dusty. Eddie was predeceased by stepson, Scott Perkins, siblings, Raymond, Doris, Herman and Lucille; his foofur dog awaits him. There will be no visitation. A memorial celebration of Eddie’s life will be held 5 p.m., August 1 at his camp in Thibeauville (Heights).
