McKinnon, Mary Elizabeth "Mae" - age 86 of Havre Boucher, Antigonish Co. Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Surrounded by her daughters, Wanda, Sharon; son-in-law, Gary; niece, Carrie and her best friend Ann Marie Long.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Angus and Philomena (Guthro) Ryan. Mae‘s life was music. Mae is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Gary) Warner, Havre Boucher; Sharon (Michael) Porter, Harpelville; and Diane (Hank) Schoeman, Ontario; brother, Leslie Ryan, Halifax; 1 niece; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James; sons, Frankie and Wayne; sister, Rita, and brother, Bernie.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 3, and Sunday, January 4, in St. Peter’s Meeting Place, Tracadie. St. Peter's CWL are asked to meet at the Meeting Place @ 7:15 p.m., Saturday for prayers for the late Mae McKinnon.
Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 5, from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Tracadie with Father John Barry officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Havre Boucher.
Memorial donations in memory of Mae may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
