POIRIER, James Daniel –Age 19, Port Hawkesbury. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our sweet James Daniel Poirier, a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend on Friday, October 23, 2015.
Born September 10, 1996, he was the cherished son of John Poirier and Debra Long, of Port Hawkesbury. He is survived by his sister, Kalen Forgeron (Steven) and brother, Cohen Poirier (Madison); more than siblings, they were his best friends. He is also survived by his grandmother Joan Poirier, his cherished nephew Dane Forgeron and many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Poirier and Long families.
A special acknowledgement to his soul mate and love of his life, Cailin MacQuarrie.
James was predeceased by his grandparents, Emerson and Norma Long, his grandfather, Frank Poirier and his uncle, Gary Long.
James was a graduate of SAERC Class of 2014 and had just completed his first year of Welding at NSCC, Strait Area Campus. James loved and played many sports including hockey, baseball and swimming. He had a great passion for basketball and spent many happy hours on the court with his friends. He loved the Toronto Raptors and dreamed of going to see them play someday. James also loved spending time outdoors and found great peace in the beauty and wonders of nature and dearly loved his cats, Belle and Mac and his new puppy, Penny.
James had an incredible bond of love with his family that cannot be put into words. The outpouring of love from James' friends in the past few days has been a huge support to his family. James had a kind-hearted, gentle nature that endeared him to so many. His big smile lit up every room he entered and he brought joy to his family and friends with his easy laugh, big heart and loving ways.
