MacINTYRE, Joan Carroll- Age 69, Port Hawkesbury, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Foulton and Cleophas (Horne) McKenna. Joan was a beautiful seamstress, she enjoyed music and dancing and kicking up a storm. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury and a member of the former Lion’s Club. Surviving are her daughter, Laureen (Jason) Landry, Howie Centre; son, Patrick, Port Hawkesbury; sisters, Joyce Holley, Antigonish; Paula (John) Tulkens, Heatherton; Faye Steeves, Antigonish; Dawn (John) Leyenaar, Merigomish; brothers, Joseph (Peggy Lee), East Lawrencetown; Gary (Susan Matthews), Cape George; Danny (Theresa Robichaud), Georgeville; Wade (Marcella Crowdis), Maryvale; grandchildren, Keigan and Kaelyn Landry; several nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford; sister, Kerry Ruth, in infancy; nephew, Jamie McKenna. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St. Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
