Skinner, Dorothy Gertrude "Dot" - Age 90 of Sunnyville, Guysborough Co. We regret to announce the passing of Dorothy Gertrude Skinner. Ms. Skinner died on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital with her brother by her side. Born in Guysborough, she was a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Dorrington) Skinner. She moved to Montreal, Que. with Dr. Breton and Dr. Henkins and their families where she worked as a homemaker. She later moved to Toronto, Ont. where she continued her work as a homemaker and caregiver, working right up until the year before her passing. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for her family. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dora Turner, Buffalo, NY; sisters, Elizabeth, Halifax; Maude, New Glasgow; Pearl, New York; Rita and Ella, both of Antigonish; brother, Thomas "Tom", Guysborough; granddaughters, Shawna Turner, Buffalo, NY; Stacey Skinner and Sabrina Skinner both of Guysborough; grandson, Lloyd Skinner Jr. (Stephanie), Edmonton, Alta.; 1 great-granddaughter, and 1 great-grandson. Dot was predeceased by her son, Lloyd "Jackie"; sister, Hattie and brothers, Chester, John, Wilfred, Norm and Earl. Cremation has taken place with burial to take place at a later date.
