Obituary
Please share a memory of Elsie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MORRIS (Borden), Elsie Viola – of Lincolnville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Born on November 24, 1929 in Lincolnville to the late Mary Rose "Rosie and William "Bill" Borden. Elsie was a tireless mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who were blessed to share in her in wonderful life.
She is survived by daughter, Catherine "Debbie" Reddick, Lincolnville; sons, Kenneth "Ken" Jones (Judy), Havre Boucher; Donald, Antigonish; Lawrence, Sydney; chosen sons, Blaise Ash and Glen Beals. She had 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Elsie considered herself an "antique teenager". There was nothing Elsie enjoyed more than an interesting conversation with a good old or new friend sharing a "snort" of Smirnoff, a good dance and a good house party. She had a knack for transforming any piece of "lovely" material into what she sought fit, be it a shower curtain into new curtains for her bedroom window or curtains into her new aprons, she could simply turn anything old into new and bad into something good. That was just her being her gifted self. She looked forward to the next new Sears catalogue as she placed her order and impatiently awaited the arrival.
She was predeceased by her parents; son, Theodore "Teddy" Borden; sisters, Margaret Lillian, Aretha Mae, Dorothy; brothers, George Albert and Private William-John; grandson, Corporal Lionel Desmond; granddaughters, Denise Borden, Aaliyah Desmond; nephew, Roger MacLellan.
She will be greatly missed for her quick wit, her love for fashion, decorating and her zest for cooking and baking.
Elsie was a person of faith and lived her life serving others.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Lincolnville Community Centre on Sunday, November 3 and Monday, November 4.
