IMLAY, Lottie Evelyn – 94, Boylston, Guysborough Co., passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in Manchester, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Harding J. and Carrie (Myers) Hull. Lottie was a lifetime resident in the Boylston/Manchester area. She and Robert raised their family on their small farm. Lottie was active in the community, supporting various events and activities. She served in the Boylston Baptist Church for many years in several capacities. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher for many years and served in many other areas as well. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. The tea pot was always on and within minutes the table could be set with a feast, most of which was fresh baked or fresh picked from her garden or the farm fields. On the quieter days she could be found in her many beautiful flower gardens or her vegetable garden. Many hours were spent as well roaming the farm fields for wild berries or armed with her fishing pole, hiking the brook, or to nearby lakes for a few hours of trout fishing. As the grandchildren arrived there was always a bountiful supply of hand knit wool socks and mitts. There was always time for a game of scrabble and a mug of hot chocolate. She will be missed by all, but has left us many wonderful memories from the days when she was mobile and active. We know she is in a better place and we know she and dad are together again. Surviving are her sons, Robert (Pat), Boylston; Fred (Mary), Big Bras d’Or; daughters, Betty (Bill) MacRae, Port Hastings; Cathy (Bob) Diggins, Waterville; sister, Florence Campbell, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; sisters, Mae Hayden, Dorothy Simpson; brother, John Hull. Visitation will be Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday from Guysborough Baptist Church, with Rev. Warren Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Boylston Baptist Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
