Urquhart, Sara Margaret “Marney” – 86, Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck formerly of West Bay, Richmond Co. Passed away in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Marney was born in Sydney to the late James and Florence MacLeod. She lived most of her life in Sydney with her husband the late William A. “Billy” Urquhart upon retirement they moved to West Bay. Quilting was a large part of Mom’s life with her last quilt completed earlier this year. Marney was a member of West Bay United Church. Mom was active in her community being involved with The West Bay Seniors, 2 dart leagues and a local bowling group. Mom is survived by daughter, Laurie (Sheldon) Hewey, New Glasgow; son-in-law, John Parsons, Kentville; son, Jamie (Loraine) Urquhart, West Bay; grandchildren, Meghan (Rob), Dartmouth; Ian and Brian Urquhart, West Bay; great –grandson, Isaiah Carter, Antigonish; sisters, Joyce Barry, Kimberly, BC; Florence (John) Mullowney, Sydney. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Billy (1995); daughter, Marlene, (April 2010); and brother, Gordon MacLeod. A celebration of Marney’s life will be held in West Bay United Church, 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25 with Wayne Yorke, DLM officiating . Burial in West Bay Cemetery.
