MacPHERSON, Charles Kevin – 62, Port Hastings, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, in Port Hastings. Born and raised in Antigonish, Kevin "Charlie" was a son of the late William and Margaret (McKay) MacPherson. He moved to Fort McMurray AB in 1976. He worked at GCOS/Suncor over the years, where he made many lifelong friends. He retired in Nova Scotia and travelled to Fort McMurray often to visit his beloved family. He is leaving behind to grieve, his loving wife Barbara MacPherson (nee DeCoste), daughters, Karen Malcolm-Henley (Fred), Shelly (Carl) Robertson, both of Fort McMurray; son, Darryl MacPherson (Caroline), Stony Plain AB; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Kaitlin Malcolm, Emma Henley, Melissa and Madison Robertson, Del and Donovan Chretien and Cameron MacPherson. He was loved by his brother and sisters, Robert MacPherson, Calgary; Catherine MacDonald, Elizabeth MacDonald, both of Antigonish; Donna Belfontaine, Colleen D’Entremont (Dennis), both of Lower Sackville; He will also be missed by his father-in-law, Ambrose DeCoste and wife Vi, of Mulgrave; brothers and sisters-in law, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley and Garneta MacPherson, and his brother Alexander MacPherson (Kaye), son-in-law, Jeff Malcolm. Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, from 2-9p.m. in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place, Mulgrave. Funeral Mass will be held 2p.m. Saturday, September 24, from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements for Kevin are under the care and direction of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
