WALSH, Charles William - Melford, Guys. Co., passed away peacefully, on Monday, February 20, 2012 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, in his 91st year. Born on July 3, 1921, Charlie was the beloved son of the late Richard and Daisy (Mattatall) Walsh. Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by brothers, Russell and Wesley; sisters, Violet Carrigan and Janie Carty and nephew, Billy Carrigan. He is survived by nephew, Donald Carty, Havre Boucher; nieces, Colleen Carty, Norfolk, Virginia; Jean Almeda, Ottawa and Mocelia Yerxa, Mississauga, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to Marie and the late Donald England, for their friendship and loving care to Charlie over the years, especially during the past two years in their home. Many thanks also to Jessie Carrigan who was a kind and special friend. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Glenn Gallivan and the staff on the 3rd floor at St. Martha’s for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private burial service will take place at a later date.
