MacPhee, Joseph "Joe" Vernon Allen, Sampsonville, Richmond Co., It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Joe MacPhee, 65 of Sampsonville, Richmond Co. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Strait Richmond Hospita, Evanston. He was born June 14, 1949 to the late Sarah and Willie McPhee of River Bourgeois. Joe "Joe Bear", as he was known by his students, worked as a teacher for 36 years. He also served as a member of county council for years. Joe was a hard working member of his community volunteering for many organizations and doing good deeds for people that were never mentioned due to his respect for their privacy. Joe is survived by his sons, Chad (Linda) MacPhee, Bakers Settlement; Theo (Cathy) MacPhee, L’Ardoise; daughter, Jennifer (Jimmy) Ferguson, Sampsonville; grandchildren, Nicolas, Magen, Samual, Jenna, Talia, Grey, Owen, Neve; brothers, Jerome (Annette) McPhee, Wilfred (Nickey) McPhee, Anthony McPhee, Bernie McPhee, Cletus (Mary) McPhee; sisters, Theresa Murray, Rose (Bernard) MacPhee, Florence (Calvin) Bowes; caregivers and friends, Richard Scott and Terry Caldwell. He was predeceased by his brother, Tommy McPhee and sisters, Edith McPhee, Margaret Chant. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Strait Richmond Hospital for their amazing care and kindness given to Joe and his family. No services will be held out of respect for Joe’s wishes. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family of the late Tommy Fougere in their time of need in Joe’s memory as he would have wished. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 26 Centennial Street, St. Peter’s.
