HADLEY, Harold 'Curtis' - 73, Hadleyville, Guysborough Co., died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Hadleyville, he was a son of the late John Harold and Bertha A. (Hart) Hadley. Curtis was a fisherman and trucker, a member of Temple Lodge No. 57, Mulgrave, a member of Guysborough County Truckers Association and also a member of Seven Communities Volunteer Fire Department. Curtis was a hardworking, honest, devoted husband and father. He was an avid storyteller and he amused many friends and family with his many tales. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (Edwards); daughter, Denise (Charles Hart), Boylston; sons, Brian (Ann Carter), Surrey, B.C.; James, Hadleyville; sisters, Thelma Jamieson, Lloydminster, Alta.; Shirley (Lloyd) Grant, Port Hawkesbury; Hazel (Gordon) Halfpenny, Sand Point; Sandra (Patrick) Ley, Mulgrave; grandchildren, Curtis, Heather, Sheryl, Josh, and Nathaniel. He was predeceased by infant brother, Bernard; sister, Ethel Hart. There will be no visitation.
A private funeral service and burial will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Curtis may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
