Obituary
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Horne, Robert "Rudy" – 46, Little Dover, Guys. Co., passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Little Dover. Rudy was born in Canso, November 17, 1964 a son of Faustina "Tina" Eva (Rhynold) Horne, Little Dover and the late Robert James Horne.
Rudy was a lobster fisherman who sailed the "Iris & David". His favourite place was on the water. He enjoyed baseball in his younger years, where he inherited the nickname "Rat" and took on curling after his baseball career was done and became one fine curler. He also enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and darts. He would hold an annual St. Patrick’s Day tournament each year which he and his buddy’s would play for a trophy (and of course bragging rights). Most of all Rudy loved to spend time with his friends and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Keefe) Horne, sons, Kyle Rudy Horne and Alexander Colby Horne all of Canso; sisters, Carrie (Dave) Haines, Bonnie (Wayne) Horne: Rhonda (Kevin) MacDonald; Iris (Nolan) Horne all of Little Dover, also several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-9 p.m., Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Rudy’s memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
