HAWLEY, Marjorie Isabel – 99, Port Hood, Inverness Co. The family regret to announce the peaceful passing of our loving and fun filled mother, Marjorie Isabel (Leadbetter) Hawley, in the Inverary Manor, Inverness, on Saturday, September 1, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Bert and Catherine (MacKinnon) Leadbetter. Born in Port Hood on August 9, 1913, she lived all her life in Port Hood. She married Robert "Rob" Hawley in 1937, also of Port Hood, where they built their home and raised their family. She was predeceased by Rob who passed away in December 1985 and a son, Alexander in 2007. She is survived by daughter, Adeline (Thomas) MacDonald, sons, Miller (Cathy), Edwin, all of Port Hood; Aubrey (Marelyn), Hopewell, N.S.; Warren (Judy), Toronto; six grandchildren, Sharon, Sheila, Robert, Melinda, Karla and Alaura; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Myles, Brittany and Brandon. She is also survived by sisters, Ruth (Russell) Bailey, Ottawa, Ont; Frances MacNeil, Port Colborne, Ont. She was predeceased by sisters, Pearl, Adeline, Nellie; brothers, David, Hadley, Kinnon and Wayne. Marjorie had a loving and generous spirit and the door to her heart and home was always open to all. Her home was the gathering place for family, relatives and friends. She was able to live in her home until 2011, for which we give thanks. She was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church, Port Hood, from where funeral will be held on Thursday, September 6, at 2pm with Pastors Maggie Plant and Pierre Chiasson officiating. Visitation will be in the Port Hood and Area Resting Place from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday, September 5. Burial will follow the funeral service in Union Protestant Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Stephen’s Building Fund, or to a charity of choice.
