Haines, Mary Beatrice "Beattie" - Age 78, Little Dover, Guys. Co., Beatrice passed away peacefully in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 surrounded by her family and close friends. Born in Little Dover, Guys. Co., on June 13, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Rosie (Bouchie) Boudreau. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas; son, Darren (Annette), Little Dover; grandson, Bobby (Jennica), Coldbrook; brothers, Murdock (Grace), Truro; Hughie (Margaret), Little Dover; Garnet , Canso; sisters, Agatha, Carol Anne, Norma (Chris), Loretta (Eldon), all of Little Dover and Marilyn (James), Canso. Special nephew, Warren (Judy) Pelrine and their children, Stephen, Melissa and Amanda. Lifetime friends Mary Mason, Ruthie Keefe, Bertha Bond, Greg and Carol Anne England. Beatrice was predeceased by brothers, Jerome "Jip", Frederick "Ted", and Laurier; brothers-in-law, Albert Boudreau, Gary Snow, Mel Dixon and Albert Snow. Beatrice was employed for many years at fish processing plants in Canso. In previous years she was a member of the St. Anne's Society and Dover Bay Senior Citizens Club. She also enjoyed many years as a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46, Canso. Beatrice was never one to turn down a social gathering and could often be found frequenting local bingo halls with lifetime friends. Beatrice's Family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso, with special thanks to palliative care nurses, Rhonda Bennett and Ashley Casey for making Beatrice's final days as comfortable as possible. Special thanks to Father Dan for his prayers and comfort. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today, (Monday) in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Parish Cemetery, Little Dover. Donations in memory of Beatrice may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital Palliative Care.
