HORNE, Jean Elizabeth - Age 84, Little Dover, Guys. Co., passed away very peacefully with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Little Dover, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Gertrude (Keefe) Haines of Little Dover. Jean worked throughout her life at ST. FX as dietary-aide, the Fish Plant in Canso and retired from Guysco Bakery in Canso. She loved bird watching, knitting slippers and doing her puzzles and spending time with all of her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family and her faith were the centre of her universe. Jean is survived by her children, Sandy Horne (Ida), Noreen Casey (Danny), Janet Peitzsche (Junior), Imelda Horne (Jerry), Rod Horne (Donna), Rosemarie Boudreau (Don); sisters, Marie Bouchie and Verna Grant; grandchildren, Cathy, Joanne, Pauline, Matthew, Brian, Daniel, Judy, Dennis, Benjamin, Gary and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Katie, Addison, Drake, Jasmine, Sebastian and Sabrina. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Horne and also her loving partner, George Barry; brother, Gerald Haines and grandson, Stevie Peitzsche. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 121 School Street, Canso. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Rev. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.
