HINES, Inez "Ivy" Pearl – age 78, of Linwood, Antigonish Co. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother, Inez "Ivy" Pearl Hines. Inez peacefully passed away on Friday, June 26th, 2015 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, at the age of 78, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born in Noel, Hants County, on December 7th, 1936 to the late Albro Mumford Singer of Noel and Minnie Carmina Cleveland of Bayswater. Inez is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Burton Hines; their children, Wayne (Gwyn), Arlene, Joan and Mark (Melissa); their grandchildren, Kisa (Jason), Lars (Amanda), Shawna (Mitchell), Jacqueline and Ashley; their five great-grandchildren; her brothers, Don (Clara) and Tony (Sandy); her sisters, Phyllis (Jack), Doreen, and Sharon (Randy); her sisters-in-law, Bernice and Marquite and her brother-in-law, Gordon. Inez was predeceased by her siblings, Opal, Joyce, Doris, Sheila, Currie, Gordon, Sam and Myrna. Family and friends were Inez’s love and joy. She loved baking for anyone and everyone and she is very much known for her glorious fruit cakes. She thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings at her home and truly cherished every moment spent with those she loved most. Inez enjoyed the simple things in life; her idea of a good afternoon involved a cup of coffee, a couple cookies, the company of Burton and their dogs, and a visit from their grandchildren with some old tunes playing in the background. Inez requested no visitation, but a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1st, 2015 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury with Reverend Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial will be held in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
