HAINES, Carmen Joseph- Age 66, Little Dover, Guysborough Co., passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016, in the Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Little Dover, he was a son of the late John Levi and Rose Alima (Horne) Haines. Carmen worked as a fisherman for most of his life. He was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover.
Surviving are his siblings, Lorraine Mooring, Harold (Genesta) Haines, both of Little Dover; Georgina (Gordon) Hughes, Riverton, Pictou Co.; Mary Jean (Francois) Rochon, Westville; Lois Richard (Christian), Alfred Haines, Sally Haines (David), all of Riverton, Pictou Co.; Cindy (Tom) Keefe, Williams Point; Daniel Haines (Debbie), Little Dover; Kay Haines, Lower South River; Kim (Allan) Baillie, Greenwood. He is survived as well by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Carl Mooring; sister-in-law, Karen Haines; nephew, Dale Haines.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. on Monday from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Canso Seaside Manor or to St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
