Livingstone, Iver "Paul", Orangedale, Inverness Co. - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck surrounded by his loving family and friends. Paul was 59, born January 1, 1953, and was the youngest son of the late David and Helen (MacIver) Livingstone. He was predeceased by brother, "Jackie" in 1968 and sister-in-law, Sandra (Day) Livingstone, 2002. He is survived by sister, Margie (Randy) Murray, Dartmouth; brothers, Billy (Maude), Orangedale; Glen, Port Hawkesbury; Bernie, Orangedale. He was a loving uncle to Lynn (Keith) Poole, P.E.I.; John (Rico) Murray, Dartmouth; Paula Blascheck, Baddeck; Michelle (Ryan) Doucette, Meaghers Grant; Don Murray, Halifax; Sandel (Ian) Smith, Bermuda; Jamie (Connie) Day, Digby; Tammy (Frank) Bennett, Port Hawkesbury; Aimee Cooke, Halifax. He was a special uncle to his grand nieces and nephews as well. He is also survived by his long time friend Barbara Ann MacKay, West Bay. She was a great comfort to him during his time in hospital. His dog Shubie was his constant companion and was predeceased shortly before Paul was diagnosed with cancer. Paul was employed with the Department of Transportation on the Little Narrows ferry for many years. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service according to Paul’s wishes. A service and committal will be held at Gillis Cove Cemetery on Tuesday, September 25 at 2 p.m., with Karen Ross officiating. A luncheon will follow at Smith Community Center, Orangedale. On behalf of Paul and his family we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr’s. Chow, Genge and Ritter and the nursing staff of Victoria County Memorial Hospital. He felt so "safe and loved" during his time in Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck or the Gillis Cove Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
