Mooring, Ralston Colin "Sonny" – Age 69 of Port Hawkesbury. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sonny. He passed away in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston on Wednesday December 30, 2015. Sonny was a son of the late Roland and Myrtle (Crittenden) Mooring (Mulgrave). He was an employee (retired) of Stora Forest Industries for 33 years. In life he was known for his kind soul, giving spirit and loving ways. His family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He treasured his time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Patricia (Proctor) Mooring, his children, Carl, Christopher (Lynne), Myrtice (Adam); his grandchildren, Ryan, Emma, Aiden and Kain. Also his extended family Douglas Timmons (Ashley, and his children, Charlie and Austin); his sisters, Marion "Jackie" (Horace) Welsh, Joan (Walter) Crant, Midge Blagdon, all of Mulgrave; Joyce (Donald) Malcolm, Port Hawkesbury; brother, John (Laureen), Mulgrave. Besides his parents he is predeceased by brother, Roland "Butch" and sister, Verna Jean in infancy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who played a huge part in his life. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Monday, January 4, with a vigil service at 6:45 p.m. all in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Sonny’s memory may be made to the Port Hawkesbury Food bank or a charity of your choice.
