KEATING, Marjorie Mary - 65 - Rocky Bay, Richmond Co.
With deep sadness and peaceful hearts we say goodbye to Marjorie Mary Keating who passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Rocky Bay. Born in Poirierville, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Lorraine (Boudreau) Fougere.
Marjorie was a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother to Jaxon. She was always ready and willing to go on any adventure that someone was willing to take her on. Marjorie was best known for her cooking, especially her pies and baked goods. She was a silent observer and never missed a trick. Marjorie said very little but when she did, it packed a punch.
All comments made were honest and quick witted, a quality that was loved by all. Marjorie will probably be remembered by most as one of the best babysitters around and having a house that was open to all friends and family. Marjorie will be forever loved and dearly missed by all.
Marjorie is survived by her sons, James (Cindy), Rocky Bay; Rudy, Poulamon Point; daughters, Maureen (Bernie), Rocky Bay and Colleen Keating (Rocky Bay); sister, Shirley (Donald) Poirier, Poulamon; brother, Eddie (Vivian) Fougere, Poirierville; grandchildren, Jordan, Coady, Chantal, Isaac, Colton, Devon, Kaitlynn, Amber and Mackenzie; great-grandchild, Jaxon. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, husband, Rudolph; and brother, Donnie Fougere.
Cremation has take place under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes Ltd, Port Hawkesbury. By request, there will be no visitation or funeral mass. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anne’s Centre, Arichat or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
A special thank you to the staff of the Strait Richmond for their kindness during her stay. Donations or words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.haverstocks.com
Your gentle face and patient smile
With sadness we recall
You had a kindly word for each
And died, beloved by all.
The voice is mute and stilled the heart,
That loved us well and true.
Ah bitter was the trial to part
From one so good as you.
You are not forgotten loved one
Nor will you ever be
As long as life and memory last
We will remember thee.
We miss you now, our hearts are sore.
As time goes by, we miss you more.
Your loving smile, your gentle face.
No one can fill your vacant place.
