Kavanagh, Kenneth Patrick - Age 89 years of Canso, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Patrick Kavanagh on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso on May 12, 1927, he was a son of the late Herman and Beatrice (Kelly) Kavanagh. He worked at several grocery stores in Canso and Halifax, including Sobeys and Atlantic Wholesalers as assistant manager. Kenneth is survived by sister, Alice, Canso. He was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Edward, Cecil and Jim; sister, Margaret, Catherine and Irene. He is survived by nieces, Irene MacDonald and Donna Nowe; nephews, Donnie MacDonald, Kevin MacDonald and Jimmy Kavanaugh. He was predeceased by his niece, Wanie Gurney. Visitation will be held from 2 – 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 121 School Street, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 27, in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in Star of the Sea Parish Cemetery.
