YOUNG, Bernadette Marie – Age 57, Waycobah First Nation, passed away in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck, surrounded by family and friends on Friday, May 17, 2019. Born in Baddeck, Bernadette she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Googoo) Michael. Left to mourn are her husband, William Young (Eskasoni); her children, Melissa (Randall), William (Adrienne), Charlie (Sharon); sisters, Janey Michael, Katy Michael; brother, Andrew Michael; grandchildren, Serena, Adreah, Korbin, Sebashton "Bash", Tristen, Randall Jij, Jasper and Hailey; godchildren, Carrie Anne Michael and Kelsey Stevens. She was predeceased by her son, Michael A. Young; brothers, Clarence Michael, Alex Michael and Lester Michael. Bernadette was a member of Blessed Kateri Parish, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah. She enjoyed many craft making from bead work to crocheting, especially making crochet hats for her grandchildren. She cherished the company of her family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Ritter, Dr. Genge and the nursing staff of Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck and also the nurses at Waycobah Health Centre. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Monday in the Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Rd. Waycobah. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from Blessed Kateri Parish, Waycobah with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial at a later date.
